Our social media has been flooded with happy memories of Bauma 2010 when we first exhibited Sitecert in Munich. April has traditionally been the month for Bauma, but that is set to change with it being held in October in 2022.
It is one of the best exhibitions in the world and should be on everyone’s bucket list, especially if you work in the construction/lifting sector.
It was the year of the Ash Cloud, and while the numbers were down – it gave more time to take everything in.
As with most exhibitions, it is a time to meet new people and existing customers. It is great to put a name to faces and enjoy quality beer together.
Lifting equipment software has come full circle in that time. We were one of the pioneers in providing LOLER inspection software to the industry. 
Large companies at the time would have tried to build the software with their own IT engineers and incurring large costs in the process. With IT departments scaling back, all companies now prefer to outsource using the SaaS (Software as a Service) model.
SaaS ensures you only pay for the software as you use it and it is times like this where SaaS comes into its own as the subscription can be reduced as work reduces.
Bauma will always have happy memories for us, but this year is particularly nostalgic given the lockdown and remembering the crowds that used to attend.
